Peter Cook - come to me in HORSHAM for all your minor auto paint repairs
About me and what I do

I do paintwork on cars, the smaller stuff that probably wouldn't interest a bodyshop, unless you were offering to pay a lot of money.

I specialise in bumper scuffs and associated damage to wheel arches.  Also, mirror covers and lots of other bits too.

If you have ever tried to photograph minor damage on a car you would have seen just how photogenic cars really are!  It is very difficult to show clearly without using appropriate photographic filters etc.

I'm also very good with unsightly, relatively superficial scratches on any panel.  If the scratch is not through the clearcoat, I will most probably be able to make it almost disappear.

If I'm conducting a repair to your car, I could touch-up all the paint chips for an additional nominal fee.

The painting of entire car body panels is beyond the scope of SMART repairs - that is what bodyshops do. I would refer you to RESHAPE for bigger jobs.  I can arrange for quotes and collection / delivery too.

If the damage is not on the bumper, I would need to see it to ascertain the location and extent of the damage to see whether a quick and easy localised repair is possible.

If you can't drop-in for me to have a quick look, you may email me pictures and a description of the damage.

I take great pride in my work and no effort is spared in doing a proper job.  As a result, a high percentage of my business is from repeat customers and referrals.

I have many years experience and I serve both the motor trade and retail customers.

  • I use modern approved materials.

  • I guarantee my work and am properly insured.

  • I have instructed many students in this field of work.

  • I can provide excellent references.

Here I have included some pictures which show the main steps in conducting a repair, in this case it was corrosion to the leading edge of the bonnet of a Jaguar.

I was able to carry out a repair of the bonnet in this instance as the damage was relatively superficial AND the area small, it was ALSO on the edge of a curved section AND that particular colour is "forgiving".  All these factors together meant that a localised repair could be conducted without being apparent afterwards. Make sense?

Most often I am able to completely "lose" the edge of the clearcoat too!  This aspect however also depends on many factors.
